8 Days Vietnam Cambodia Highlights Tour

Have breakfast at hotel. Today, you will take a day trip to visit Halong Bay, a World Heritage Site of outstanding natural beauty. The travel starts around 8:00am on the new highway which takes around 2.5-3 hour drive including one stop in midway to relax. You will arrive at Halong Bay at noon. Embark on a traditional style wooden junk around noon. Lunch will be served on boat during your cruise. You will cruise around the bay with rocks, islets, caves and grottos. You then will visit to the one of the most beautiful caves in Halong bay. Late afternoon / early evening, drive back to Hanoi for overnight in Hanoi.

Today, we will take the sightseeing of the most city's outstanding historical and cultural sites. The visit includes:
- The complex of Ho Chi Minh historical sites, also called the political center of Vietnam including Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh's House on Stilt, One Pillar Pagoda.
- The Temple of Literature for the brief understanding about the two most popular religions in Vietnam (Buddhism and Confucianism).
- Visit one of the museums in Hanoi (Museum of History, Museum of Ethnology, Museum of Fine Art, Hoa Lo Prison, etc). 

Afternoon, transfe to Hanoi airport for a 2 hours flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival in Ho Chi Minh, you are met by us at the airport for the transfer to hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Depart Hotel early in the morning for Cu Chi to visit the Tunnels. Cu Chi Tunnels are a network of underground tunnels begun in 1948 by the Viet Minh in their struggle against the French. These tunnels were expanded and used by the Viet Cong during the war between Vietnam and America. Americans called this the “Iron Triangle” and was a stronghold of the Vietcong for almost thirty years. Return to the city at noon. 
Afternoon, we will have the city sightseeing, visit Notre Dame Cathedral, in the heart of Saigon's government quarter, is of neo- Romanesque architecture with two high square tower and iron spires. The Central Post Office is French-style and City Hall, known as "Hotel de Ville," is typical of the French architecture that would be seen in any village in France. Visit the War Remnants Museum, featuring collections of weapons and photographs from the two Indochina wars. Our last stop is Ben Thanh market, the biggest whole sales market in Saigon. Stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Option 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta Tour - Fly to Siem Reap
After breakfast, leave the hotel and head out of the bustling city, we ride along rice field to My Tho, one of Mekong Delta province. Upon arrival in My Tho, we embark on a boat navigating around the small canals in the delta region. Joining in with daily activities of local people and enjoy the atmosphere of water world along the canal and along the Tien river. The exciting cruise continue to Unicorn island, here you can taste many seasonal fruits and enjoy the local traditional music, performed by the islanders. Having lunch at a typical country garden house. Next stops are the coconut candy “mill” and some other local industries in Ben Tre province.
Afternoon, transfer to Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh flight to Siem Reap. Arrive Siem Reap, our guide will pick up at Siem Reap airport and transfer to hotel for check in. 
Evening, you are free to explore the nightlife, night market, pub streets or enjoy local Cambodia cuisines. Overnight in Siem Reap.

Option 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Fly to Siem Reap - Tonle Sap Lake & Floating Village Tour
Leave Ho Chi Minh City for Siem Reap on a midday / early afternoon flight. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, we will head to visit Chong Kneas a floating village on the Tonle Sap Lake. Chong Kneas will be appropriate place for visitors who want to break from temples. The floating village has everything that a normal village on land has with schools, hospitals, restaurants, shops and floating crocodile farms. Then, transfer to the hotel for check-in. 
Evening, you are free to explore the nightlife, night market, pub streets or enjoy local Cambodia cuisines. Overnight in Siem Reap.

After having your breakfast at the hotel, we will explore to visit The South Gate of Angkor Thom: Bayon, Baphoun and Leper King Terrace, Phimeanakas and then Ta Prohm.   
Continue your trip with Thommanon, Chaosay, Ta Keo and the center religious beliefs of Cambodia, Angkor Wat, one of the “Seven Wonders’ of the world”. At the end of the day, you will climb to the top Bakheng Mountain or Pre Rup Temple to watch the extraordinary sunset.
Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Breakfast at hotel, and take the high quality tourist bus from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh at 8:45am. The bus trip takes around 6 hours including some stops on way to relax. On arrival in Phnom Penh, check in hotel and rest of the day is free to relax or explore the city on your own. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Alternative option for the transfer from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh by one hour flight. This option is the quickiest but much more expensive, from 85 USD/person extra.
