Just a note to thank you for our experience in Vietnam and Cambodia. We are now back safely in Australia.
We have enjoyed seeing many different parts of your country. The guides and drivers have all been extremely helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating to our experience. I would especially recommend Ms Nha, who gave us a great introduction to Hanoi and surrounding areas, Ms Tui who gave us an insight into the tribal people in the hills around Sapa, Mr Tu from Calypso Cruises who was very helpful and lots of fun, Mr Thien from Hue and Hoi Ann whose local knowledge was excellent and was always thinking of us, Mr Thui from Saigon who also had great local experience and knowledge, and Mr Keam and Mr Khom who have shared their local knowledge about Cambodia and were always very accommodating.
Our drivers were all very professional and patiently got us safely around your ‘crazy traffic’! We are grateful that there was always someone there to transfer us from place to place and assist with suggestions for lunch and dinner and suggestions of things to do in our spare time.
I would also highly recommend Calypso cruises who looked after us so well. Also the Redbridge cooking class at Hoi Ann was excellent, very entertaining and great food. Nana from the Vintage Vespa tour was great fun and this was another highlight of the tour.
Overall the meals and service at the restaurants you organised were excellent. Mr Duong’s being a great way to start our holiday and the Cambodian restaurants Asian square and 24 square a great finish.
The hotels also were all clean and provided excellent service. The Victoria in Châu Doc being our favourite as it combined a great view and room with excellent food and service.
A few suggestions to improve the itinerary would be to add a different activity between temple days in Siem reap for variety. Possibly bird sanctuary, silk farm or buttterfly centre. Also add the recently UNESCO listed temple on route from Phnom Penh to Siem reap.
Also we were given seasonal fruit for desert most nights which was a bit repetitive.
Once again ‘cam o’n anh’
Kind Regards Deb and Noel McKay
