Day 1: Hanoi – Night Train To Sapa (N/A)

21:00: Meet our guide at Hanoi train station and boarding the train.

22:00: Train departs for Lao Cai / Sapa and sleep on the night train in a 4 soft sleeper sharing A/C cabin (4 persons in a cabin)
Travel time approx 8 hrs.

Note: If you want to upgrade to the private 2 person cabin on the train, surcharge 60 USD per person for the round trip.

Day 2: Arrive Sapa - Visit Cat Cat Village (B/L)

The train arrives around 6am. We will pick you up at Lao Cai railway station and transfer you up to the town of Sapa which takes approx one hour. Have breakfast at local restaurant.

Morning: Take a short car ride to Cat Cat village and start trekking to explore Cat Cat, the village of Black H’Mong hill tribe. The village is on the slope of the hill and easy walking, rice and corn are grown here. Cat Cat village possesses many imposing waterfalls and also is home to the water hydropower construction built under French rule.
Return to the hotel in Sapa by car at noon and have lunch.
After lunch, check in hotel.
Afternoon, you are free to explore the town and local market in town, or climb up Ham Rong mountain for a great view on your own. Stay overnight in hotel.

Day 3: Sapa – Trekking To Y Linh Ho, Lao Chai & Ta Van Villages (B/L)

After breakfast, take a short car ride to Y Ling Ho village where we start trekking down to Lao Chai village of Black H’mong ethnic people. Here we will discover their daily life and how they make traditional clothes, handicraft, indigo... We will visit the biggest valley which provides the best view for golden rice terrace fields in Vietnam. After Lao Chai, we walk to Ta Van village of Dzay people. It is a small group of ethnic people in Vietnam with a rich culture and beautiful houses located on rice paddy fields.
Return to Sapa by car in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel in Sapa.

Day 4: Visit Silver Waterfalls & Fansipang Mount By Cable Car & Night Train Back To Hanoi (B/L)

Visit Silver Waterfalls & Fansipang Mount By Cable Car & Night Train Back To Hanoi (B/L)

Have breakfast at hotel.
Morning, transfer by car to visit The Silver Waterfalls. That is 18km away from Sapa – the most beautiful water fall in Sapa. After that, the car pick you up to Fansipang Cable Car Station and spend 20 minutes with cable car to enjoy the spectacular scenery.
Reach the altitute of 2800 meters, you have a good time to see the view and take photos, visit pagoda the spiritual destinations and trek up to 600 steps you will reach the peak of Fansipan - the Roof of Indochina. (Spend about 1,5-2 hours for hiking and taking photos).
Come back to Fansipan Cable Car Station and return to Sapa town.

Late afternoon, our driver will pick you up at the hotel and transfer you to Lao Cai train station for the night train back to Hanoi. Overnight on the train.
The train will arrive in Hanoi early in the morning next day (around 5:30am), check out the train and tour finishes. End of the Sapa 3 day 2 night tour.

After searching for the ideal SaPa tour I just couldn’t find what I wanted with ‘set’ tours so decided to see how much a private bespoke tour was. Hoang was absolutely amazing from start to finish. The price difference was very little and I could take the best bits of the ones I’d seen and with Hoang’s advice we had the best 3 night trip. She met us before we got on the train and then our guide (SanMai - May) in Sapa was fantastic. We had private transfers, and entrance to where we wanted to go all sorted for us so we could just enjoy the trip. Probably the best part of our 3 week trip and Hoang helped us with transfers later in the trip as I trusted her so much and prices were good and communication excellent.
I can’t recommend Hoang and her team enough.
