Day 1: Ho Chi Minh – Ben Tre – Overnight In Can Tho (L)

~08:00 AM: Pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City centre and leave the bustling city. Enjoy the scenic journey along the National Highway bordered by green rice fields.
~10:30 AM: On arrival in Ben Tre in the Mekong delta, we start our trip at the Phong Nam Bridge. Rest and have tea and jam. Get xe loi (tricycle) on the village road (4.5km or 9.5km) such as: See the monkey bridge, continue to visit Phu Tu communal house (Bach Mai communal house with a 300-year-old Bach Mai tree), visit the rice fields + crops at Uncle 3's hut (uncle grows rice 2 crops/1 year + crops). Continue to see the coconut processing kiln such as: peeling coconut - beating coconut - shaving coconut - cooking coconut caramel, see how to stew coconut shell charcoal.

12:15 The boat takes your group along the Chet Say River, enjoy fruits and fresh coconut water on the boat.

12:40 Visit the handmade coconut candy kiln - enjoy hot coconut candy right at the kiln, see how the locals fry bananas - enjoy hot fried bananas on the spot. Continue by boat in the small canal to Nhon Thanh market.

13:15 Walk on the village road (500m) to Xom Nho (see daily activities of local people) or take a pedicab to Xu Dua restaurant for lunch with rustic dishes from the West.

15:00 Pedicab takes your group to the rowing boat dock (15 minutes), rowing in the coconut canal (15 minutes).

15:30 Arrive at Nha Viec bridge, get on the car and proceed to Can Tho. Free time to relax. Overnight in Can Tho.

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river (Bassac River), then proceed to Cai Rang floating markets, which are the liveliest in the whole religion. After paying a visit to the colorful floating market check-out and disembark before exploring Son islet - an islet in the middle of Hau River which is separated not far away from the mainland with alluvial consolidating green orchids all year round and the honest, lovely and enthusiastic people. The first experience in Son islet where you will visit a floating fish farm on the Hau River. The fisherman has a collection of fish.

Walking around Son islet among 80 households, you experience picking the fruit and enjoy it from the tree when you visit the garden with local people. Do not miss the monkey bridge!

Have lunch with many specialties on this islet. After that, visit Ong Pagoda with a long history, reflects the cultural and Buddhist traditions of the Chinese community. Continue to visit Munir Ansay Pagoda - a Khmer temple. Return to hotel and relax.
Overnight in Can Tho.

Day 3: Can Tho – Xeo Quyt – Back To Ho Chi Minh (B/L)

After breakfast at hotel, check out the hotel and depart for Dong Thap province to explore the famous beautiful Xeo Quyt forest. On the way, stop to visit the Ancient House and its incredible love story between Huynh Thuy Le and French writer Marguerite Duras. Continue to visit Sa Dec Flower Village where you will deeply understand how important flowers are in this region. On arrival the visiting this area in Xeo Quyt, you have a chance to experience exciting moments on the sampan boat weaving into wild narrow canals hidden under layers of green and yellow climbing plants. Return to Ho Chi Minh, drop off at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City centre. End of the 3 Day Mekong Delta tour.

The booking process via internet was very professional, quick and easy. The trip itself was very interesting with a very well composed itinerary with a lot of boat trips and a lot of local food experiences just as I had requested.

The hotel in Can Tho had the best possible location and of high standard. The car, the guide and the driver, everything worked perfectly! It was a smooth trip with excellent service from start to end.

The most memorable experience was the visit at the floating market in Cai Rang. I have been to a number of floating markets in Asia but this was the real thing, not just a tourist trap.
