Return to Mandalay Afternoon, drive to Ava, 30-minute to the south of Mandalay, was known in the west as the Kingdom of Ava. Stop by a tributary and cross it with a ferry. Travel by pony-cart around Ava to Nanmyint leaning tower which gives a birds' eye view of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River; Bagaya wooden monastery; Aungmyaybonza Monastery made of brick and stucco. Though the Royal Palace has gone, the Pagodas, Temples and Monasteries still remain. Return drive to Mandalay and see the silversmith work place on our way back to hotel. This morning we head for the airport to get the early morning flight to Bagan. Check into the hotel and depart for a sightseeing excursion around the Bagan Archaeological Zone World Heritage Area. A comprehensive exploration of Bagan includes Nyaung Oo market; Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of later Myanmar stupas; Kyansittha Umin; Wet-kyi-inn Gubyaukgyi Temple with exquisite mural painting of 13th century and Htilominlo Temple. In the afternoon, after a visit to lacquer ware workshops; continue to Manuha Temple built by exile King Manuha; Nanphaya, said to have been the residence of King Manuha; Ananda Temple, architectural masterpiece and Oak-Kyaung monastery decorated with multi colour mural paintings. This morning, we will be watching sunrise over Bagan (optional) and back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast at hotel, we head to Mt. Popa about 48 km southeast of Bagan. Mt. Popa, known as the abode of Nats (spirits) - a collection of 37 magical spirits both feared and honoured by some Myanmar people and the nat museum, which houses 37 life-size nat statues sculpted from teak. It's time to climb for 777 steps to the summit. Proceed to Popa Mountain Resort (1hr drive ) for your own lunch. The restaurant offer a great view to the Popa summit that stands straight from the central plain. After lunch, return drive back to Bagan. On the way back, enroute stop at village cottage industry to learn the regional product as well as to watch the collection of juice from the palm trees, and its conversion to brown sugar. After breakfast, depart the hotel for flight to Heho on the Shan plateau. Upon arrival, transfer by road to Pindaya (60km) about 90 minutes drive. After check in at hotel, make an excursion to the caves which houses over 8,000 Buddha Images of various sizes, made from teak, lacquer, marble, alabaster and cement. In the afternoon, explore the district for it's famous traditional paper & umbrella making home base cottage industry. Overnight at the hotel in Pindaya.

After breakfast at hotel, we are transferring by road to Inle Lake. We have a leisurely morning to make our way down into the Inle basin and by "long-tail" boat out across the lake to our Hotel right on the Inle Lake. In the afternoon, we plan to spend the day visiting villages and sampling the spectacular array of traditional handicrafts. You will see the unique method locals use to row their boats, fishermen with their own style of fishing, floating farms and gardens and a handloom weaving cottage with its own showroom. You will visit Phaungdawoo Pagoda which houses the five most revered Buddha Images in the southern Shan State. Overnight at the hotel on Inle Lake.

After breakfast at the hotel, visit floating market which is a 5day rotation market most fascinating to watch the daily life of the minorities and their activities. Continue our excursion by motorized boat to Indein pagoda complex, in the south-west of the lake. The boat leaves the lake and enters a narrow canal with a beautiful natural environment to continue to a small Pa O tribe village. From the village, follow an old covered path to a 13th century monastery and the very impressive ruins of hundreds of ancient pagodas, some hidden in the vegetation. The main stupa-area on the top of the hill offers breathtaking views over the surrounding mountains and down to the valley and the lake in the far distance. Return to your hotel and overnight at the hotel.

We are heading back down country today to return to the airport at Heho for our flight to Thandwe. Our route takes us back to Heho and down the escarpment to Nyaung-Shwe for a busy local market. Today, take a walk through "downtown" Yangon, a diverse mix of faded colonial architecture from the British times, and high-rises built by more recent investors; Sule Pagoda, built in the early 3rd century is a landmark in the city centre. late afternoon visit the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda of Rudyard Kipling fame and one of Myanmar's most sacred places. The massive bell shaped stupa is plated with gold and the tip of the stupa is set with diamonds and rubies, sapphires and topaz - a stunning sight.

Later in afternoon, transfer to Yangon airport for the flight to Phnom Penh. On arrival in Phnom Penh, you are met and transferred to the hotel. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

The capital city of Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm. A city tour acquaints us with some major sights of Phnom Penh. Visit the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. The private quarters of the Royal Palace are now home to the royal family and are therefore very close to the public. At the northern area of the palace grounds is Silver Pagoda, the most sacred temple in the country.
Afternoon, we take a 'walk back' into the brutal, (modern) history that Cambodia shockingly suffered under Pol Pot's reign during the 1970's, visiting 'The Killing Fields'.

Return to the city center and visit one of most bustling market in the city and end the day with the visit to the Wat Phnom Temple. Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Start early today for the nearly five hour drive to Battambang. Leave the hustle and bustle of Phnom Penh behind as you head north to Kampong Luong which is a silversmith village. Observe silversmiths creating ornate and fashionable silver objects. Continue with a visit to Oudong, which functioned as the former capital of Cambodia between the early 17th century and late 19th century. Nowadays Oudong still holds great significance as the three hills are home to various stupas containing the remains of several former Khmer Kings. The main stairway (over 500 steps) leads to the newest of the temples and is home to a Buddha relic. The views from the summit of the surrounding countryside are impressive and worth the climb. Continue to the small riverside town of Kampong Chhnang, enjoying a picnic lunch en route. It is famous for its beautiful landscape and local villages which produce pottery in the midst of the rice fields. Learn how the community makes pottery the traditional way and observe how sugar is collected from the sugar palm trees. Let your guide assist you with translating if you are interested to learn more about village life. Transfer onwards to Battambang and check into your hotel upon arrival late afternoon. This morning, visit the striking hilltop pagoda of Phnom Sampeau. This massive limestone outcrop is dissected by a number of caves with some containing unexpected reminders of Cambodia’s turbulent history. Walk around the premises with your guide and continue to the village of Ksach Puoy on the banks of the Sangker River, which is home to many well preserved traditional Khmer wooden stilted homes and tropical fruit farms. This is a great opportunity to taste juicy oranges, sweet pineapples, and many other fruits available in the region. Lunch is taken on the way in a local restaurant. Not far from Ksach Puoy is Cambodia’s first vineyard. If wine is what you are after, pop in and learn about producing wine in the tropics and a tasting if you are interested. Continue to the well preserved 11th century Prasat Phnom Banan, located on top of a hill bearing the same name. After climbing the 350 steps you are treated to a peaceful setting with superb views across the surrounding countryside. Small villages are dotted in and around the endless rice paddies, punctuated with the characteristic sugar palm trees – a wonderful location to catch the sunset before returning to Battambang town. Pay a visit to the Battambang Museum, which house some interesting lintels and artifacts from the region. Bid farewell to Battambang and drive 2.5 hours further northwest to the seldom visited north western province of Banteay Meanchey. This province is home to the ancient temple of Banteay Chhmar, which is also referred to as the “Fortress of the Cat”. This large temple is rarely visited by tourists due to its remoteness, thus it makes a refreshing change from the crowds at Angkor Wat. Severe looting has prevented archaeologist from understanding the temple and its function in detail, leaving its use to speculation. A low key community tourism project has recently been established in the village to help the poor people taking care of the temple to supplement their incomes. Upon arrival, the local community will welcome you and members will join you to visit the temple explaining its history. Continue your transfer to Siem Reap arriving mid-afternoon. In the morning, visit the most famous of all the temples on the plain of Angkor: Angkor Wat. The temple complex covers 81 hectares and is comparable in size to the Imperial Palace in Beijing. Its distinctive five towers are emblazoned on the Cambodian flag and the 12th century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the prime example of classical Khmer art and architecture. Angkor Wat's five towers symbolize Meru's five peaks - the enclosed wall represents the mountains at the edge of the world and the surrounding moat, the ocean beyond.

Afternoon, Visit the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century). See the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephants Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and Bayon Temple (unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara), until sunset. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Morning, Visit the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 10 kilometers south of Siem Reap.  Take a traditional wooden boat for a ride on the Tonle Sap Lake, the "Great Lake" of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia.

Afternoon, transfer to Banteay Srei temple (10th c), regarded as the jewel in the crown of Classical Khmer Art. Continue to Ta Prohm, one of the area’s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery.
Visit "Les Artisans d'Angkor - Chantiers Ecoles" of Siem Reap and time at leisure at the local market in the rest of the afternoon. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Breakfast, we enjoy a visit of the surrounding countryside, and board on a long trail boat touring to Don Khone area, taking you to visit the remains of French period, Liphi Waterfall or "the Corridor of the Devil". We return to the mainland at Ban Nakasang, a fishery village and drive further south to visit Khone Phapheng on the journey, the biggest waterfall in the South East Asia, it is really the impressive sight then a lush vegetation near the Lao-Cambodian border, which is teeming with wildlife and it is one of the loveliest destinations in Laos, Afterward we drive back to overnight in Done Khone.

After breakfast at hotel, take a motor boat to the mainland and drive direct to Pakse, visit local market of Pakse town see local products and local foods, before transfer to visit school of monks of wat Luang temple , then Sobse temple , it is very nice view of Pakse bridge along the Mekong river and mountain view.  Then transfer to airport for late afternoon flight to Vientiane. Today, enjoy a city tour to visit Morning Market, Wat Sisaket with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues. Then visit Wat Simuang and Wat Prakeo, which was the original home of the famous Emerald Buddha, which today resides in Bangkok. Admire the huge, golden That Luang monument, which all Lao citizens respect as holy pagoda. Visit Vientiane’s own Victory Monument, which looks like the Arc de Triumphe. This was built at the end of the Indochina wars with money rumoured to be American, and earmarked for the airport’s new runway. Thus the departing Americans dubbed this monument the vertical runway! Have a look at the lovely arches inside the monument. There are many excellent restaurants in Vientiane and you will easily find something to suit your taste. Overnight in Vientiane.

After breakfast, a road trip to outskirts of Vientiane, following the road along the Mekong river bank to visit the Buddha park of Xieng Khuan, (28km East of Vientiane), containing a combination of hundred statues of Hindu divinities and Buddha. We drive pass villages on the bank of Mekong through beautiful views of vegetable garden, tobacco plantation ... etc. make photo stops and see rural life of local people. We also have a nice view of the Mekong Friendship Bridge as the border between Laos and Thailand . Return to Vientiane town and continue to visit Ban Nongbuathong the hand weaving Village. Take a walk on Mekong Riverside before transfer back to Hotel for overnight. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

We depart from Vientiane by following the Road 13 toward North. Our first stop will be made at the archaeological site of Vang Xang which dates from the Mon-Khmer period of the 8  11th century. En route, we will stop at Hmong village and you arrive in Vang Vieng at noon. We are transferred to hotel for check-in.

In the afternoon, we visit the Tham Chang Cave and then take a long tail boat on Nam Song River to Organic Farm that produces mulberry tea, sericulture and wine, which you can taste. We return to Vang Vieng by long tail boat by sunset. Overnight in Vang Vieng.

After Breakfast, we take a drive to the former Royal capital, Luang Prabang. It takes around 4 hours to arrive. En route, we stop to talk with local ethnic people who have built their houses and settle down along the road. After breakfast, enjoy the visit Wat Visoun, the site of impressive Thad Makmo stupa. The rounded dome is stylistically more Sinhalese than Lao. Continue to visit Wat Mai. Built in 1796, the five-tiered roof of the wooden Sim (chapel) epitomizes the graceful Luang Prabang architectural style.

Visit the National Museum (closed Tuesday) at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture throughout the ages. 

Afternoon, visit Wat Xieng Thong further emphasizes the uniqueness of Luang Prabang, its several roofs sweeping low to the ground. See also the impressive “tree of life” mosaic here. The gilt panel on the exterior of the chapel depicts semi-erotic episodes from the Ramayana. Climb up Phou Sii hill stands right in the center of this small city. Climb its 350 steps to enjoy commanding views for many miles in each direction. Wat Phu Sii sits atop the mountain, along side the skeletons of Indochina war anti-aircraft guns! . Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Morning, we then board an upstream cruise on the Mekong River, which gives us a panoramic view of the tranquil countryside. We’ll make sure to stop at the Pak Ou Caves, sanctuaries consisting of two large caverns, both repositories for thousands of Buddha images. We will also stop at a few villages during the day, including Ban Xanghai where the local rice wine is produced. On our way back, we pass by a few more local villages. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

After breakfast, we will travel 30 km to the south to visit the famous Kuangsi waterfalls. Although not low, are spectacular and really beautiful in their greenery. They are located in a protected national park. Before arriving there, we stop en route to visit the market Talad Phosy known for selling fresh fruits from the entire region. We will also visit Ban Na Oune , a small village inhabited by the mountain ethnic group " Hmong " , probably the best-known minority group in Laos . Just before arriving at the Kuang Xi waterfalls we visit another village inhabited this time by the Khmu ethnic minority, the village of Ban Tha Pane. Our picnic lunch will be served in the shady park surrounding Kuang Xi waterfalls. Guests have plenty of time to relax and swim in fresh water before returning to Luang Prabang by late afternoon.
