1. Ho Chi Minh Cruise Port Terminals
Mid-size and smaller ships can navigate the twisting Saigon River and tie up within a very short distance of the city center.
Saigon port consists of three different piers in the center of town. The ship is not assigned to a specific pier until 24 hours prior to arrival. The three piers are located as follows:
One of the following:
1. Nha Rong Port - # 3 - 5 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; or
2.Tan Thuan II Port-# 243 Bui Van Ba Street, Tan Thuan Dong Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; or
3.Lotus Port-# 1A Nguyen Van Quy Street, Phu Thuan Ward, District 7, Ho Chi Ming City, Vietnam
Larger ships dock at Phu My, a commercial port on the Vietnam East Sea near Vung Tau, some 80 miles by road (1.5 hours) from Ho Chi Minh City.
The port is out in the middle of nowhere so don’t expect to walk around and find things to do.
2. Vietnamese Currency
The currency of Vietnam is the Dong, however, US dollars are widely accepted. There are approximately 23,000 dong to 1 USD.

Ho Chi Minh City has a tropical monsoon climate - it's very much a typical steaming hot Southeast Asian metropolis where you can expect it to be either hot and dry or hot and wet.
Regardless of the time of year, you'll never need more than one layer of clothing in this southeastern Vietnam city.
Ho Chi Minh City has two distinct seasons, the northeast monsoon months from November to April and the rainy southwest monsoon months of May through October. Humidity levels average 75% throughout the year but are higher during the rainy season.
