Morning, you are welcomed and picked up by our private guide by the ship in Chan May port around 60km ~ 1 hour drive (if you are arriving at Tien Sa port, please request for different quote) and transfer to Hue City. Today you will spend the day in Hue, the former capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty of emperors from 1802 till 1945.
We start our Hue shore excursion with the first visit to Khai Dinh King’s tomb – which is a blend of Western and Eastern architecture.
After that, we will visit Hue Imperial Citadel – the ancient capital in Viet Nam. The citadel had been built since 1805 in Nguyen Dynasty – Nguyen Anh emperor. This attraction includes many ramparts, palaces and constructional works of royal such as Thai Hoa palace, Hung temple, Trieu temple, Duyet Thi Duong royal theater. The citadel now is still original with nearly 140 small and large constructions.
We continue our drive and visit Thien Mu pagoda – the oldest pagoda in Hue. It’s around 3km from Citadel and on the northern bank of Perfume River. Thien Mu pagoda is surrounded by flowers and ornamental plants.
Then, we go back to the port and arrive to the ship about one and a half hour before the departure time. End of the Hue shore excursion.

1. Hue Cruise Port Terminal
The cruise port that serves Hue Vietnam are Chan May Port situated at Binh An village, Loc Vinh Commune, Phu Loc District, Thua Thien Hue Province. It is 60km from Hue city centre to the north, and Tien Sa Port situated in Danang which is some 100km to the south.

3. Weather in Hue
Hue weather enjoys hot and humid seasons throughout the year, but it’s known to be hotter than most cities during the summer months due to its location in Central Vietnam and the hot south-westerly wind from Laos. The dry season lasts between March and August, followed by cooler (and rainy) weather from September to February.
The hottest months are May and August, when it can get as high as 40°C during the day. Hue is also typically crowded with local travellers during this period, resulting in limited and more expensive accommodation.
